  • 1 pound smoked sausage halal-certified turkey or beef, sliced into rounds
  • 4 cups baby potatoes halved or quartered
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Seasoning
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix 1 oz (about 3 tbsp)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Toppings & Serving
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream optional, for serving
  • fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Halve or quarter the baby potatoes. Slice the smoked sausage into ¼-inch rounds.

  3. In a small bowl, mix the ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. In a large bowl, toss potatoes with olive oil and about two-thirds of the seasoning mix.

  4. Spread potatoes in a single layer on the baking sheet. Scatter sausage over top. Sprinkle with remaining seasoning.

  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, stirring halfway through, until potatoes are golden and tender.
  6. Sprinkle cheese evenly over the potatoes and sausage. Return to oven for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. Garnish with parsley. Serve hot with sour cream on the side if desired.

Notes

For Crispier Potatoes: Ensure they are in a single layer, not touching. Press down lightly with a spatula when stirring halfway.
Make it a Meal: Add chopped bell peppers or onions with the potatoes for extra veggies.
Homemade Ranch: Use 3 tbsp of a mix of dried parsley, dill, garlic powder, onion powder, dried chives, salt, and pepper.
