Sticky Honey Chicken

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
For the Sticky Honey Sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha optional, for heat
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger grated
Garnish (Optional)
  • sesame seeds
  • chopped green onions

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, toss the chicken cubes with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.

  3. While the chicken cooks, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ketchup, sriracha (if using), minced garlic, and grated ginger in a small bowl.

  4. Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken evenly.
  5. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
