Instructions
- Combine milk and Sakura powder in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat, whisking constantly, for 5-7 minutes until warm and steaming. Ensure the Sakura powder is fully dissolved.
- Taste the milk mixture. If a stronger floral flavor is desired, add another tablespoon of Sakura powder and whisk until dissolved.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the honey (or other sweetener) until well combined. Adjust sweetness as needed.
- In a separate small, cold bowl, whip the heavy cream using a milk frother or whisk until it becomes frothy and foamy. Do not over-whip; the goal is a light fluffiness.
- Pour the warm Sakura-infused milk into a mug or cup.
- Gently spoon the whipped cream over the top of the latte.
- Garnish with a sprinkle of dried Sakura powder.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the delicate floral notes.
Notes
This latte has a unique floral and slightly salty taste, not like cherry. If you enjoy floral flavors, you will likely love this drink. For an iced version, cool the prepared latte and chill before serving over ice. You can also add a shot of espresso for a caffeinated kick.
