  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick)
  • 10 oz marshmallows
  • Red Food Coloring (optional)
  • Sprinkles, candies, icing for decoration

Method
 

  1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat.

  2. Add the marshmallows to the melted butter and stir constantly until completely melted. Remove from heat.

  3. If desired, add a few drops of red food coloring for a Valentine's Day hue. Mix well.

  4. Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into the marshmallow mixture. Stir until well coated.
    6 cups Rice Krispies cereal, 10 oz marshmallows
  5. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch pan or onto parchment paper.
  6. Gently press the mixture evenly.
  7. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out hearts while the mixture is slightly warm.
  8. Decorate with sprinkles, candies, or icing of your choice.
