  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon red food coloring liquid or gel
  • 2 tablespoons Red Hot Cinnamon flavor extract adjust to taste
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Method
 

  1. Prep: Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Combine: In a medium saucepan, mix sugar, corn syrup, and water.

  3. Cook: Heat the mixture over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.

  4. Boil: Stop the stirring for a moment and bring to a rolling boil. Use a candy thermometer from here on.
  5. Reach Hard Crack Stage: Continue boiling until temperature reaches 300°F (149°C), the hard-crack stage.
  6. Remove from Heat: Take the mixture immediately off the heat. Add food coloring and Red Hot Cinnamon flavor extract. Stir swiftly and without pause, until all ingredients are distributed evenly.

  7. Pour: Pour the liquid candy onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Cool: Let cool completely.
  9. Break & Dust: Once firm, crack into bite-sized pieces. Dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
