Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1 pound seedless green grapes
  • 1 bottle Prosecco 750ml
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • edible glitter optional, for garnish
  • fresh mint leaves finely chopped
  • almond slices toasted
  • lemon zest

Equipment

  • Medium Bowl
  • Slotted Spoon
  • Shallow Dish
  • Parchment-lined baking sheet
  • Refrigerator
  • Freezer

Method

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the green grapes. Make sure there's no excess water.
  2. Pour the Prosecco into a medium bowl.
  3. Add the grapes to the Prosecco and let them soak for at least 2 hours, or up to overnight, in the refrigerator. The longer they soak, the more flavorful they become.
  4. In a shallow dish, combine the sugar and lemon juice.
  5. Remove the grapes from the Prosecco with a slotted spoon.
  6. Roll the soaked grapes in the sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  7. Place the coated grapes on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Freeze for at least 2 hours, or until solid.
  9. Garnish with edible glitter (optional) and serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure grapes are completely dry before soaking. Use chilled Prosecco and grapes for best results. Experiment with different grape varieties (red or black). Store leftovers in freezer. Serve as palate cleanser, dessert, or on cheese boards. Can be skewered with mozzarella and basil for appetizers.
