Pepper Steak Bell Peppers Onion

Ingredients
  

For the Steak
  • 1 pound sirloin steak thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Vegetables
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 2 bell peppers any color, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, mix steak with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions and bell peppers. Cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. In the same skillet, add the steak. Cook until browned but still tender, about 3-5 minutes.

  4. Whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, and ginger in a small bowl.

  5. Pour the sauce into the skillet with the steak. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 2-3 minutes.

  6. Return the cooked onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Mix well to combine with the steak and sauce.
