Instructions
- Prepare the strawberries: Wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries. Carefully cut off the green tops and use a small spoon or melon baller to gently hollow out the center of each strawberry, creating a cavity for the filling. Be careful not to puncture the bottom.
- Make the Oreo truffle mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the finely crushed Oreo cookies and softened cream cheese. Mix well until a dough-like consistency forms.
- Form the truffle filling: Roll small portions of the Oreo mixture into balls, slightly smaller than the hollowed-out space in the strawberries. You should get about 24 small balls.
- Stuff the strawberries: Carefully press one Oreo truffle ball into the hollowed-out center of each strawberry. Gently reshape the strawberry if needed to enclose the truffle.
- Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the 1/2 cup of chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler.
- Coat the strawberries: Dip each stuffed strawberry into the melted chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Place the coated strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill and decorate: Refrigerate the strawberries for at least 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate has set. If desired, melt the additional 1/4 cup of chocolate and drizzle over the set chocolate coating for decoration.
- Serve: Once the chocolate is firm, serve the Oreo truffle-stuffed strawberries immediately or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
For best results, use fresh, firm strawberries. Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for easy mixing. You can use milk, dark, or white chocolate for coating and drizzling.
