  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Method
 

  1. Place a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat. Add the butter or olive oil and let it melt. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

  2. Pour the dry pasta directly into the pot. Add the milk and the water. The liquid should just barely cover the noodles. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
