Ingredients
  

Base
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
Vegetables
  • 1 8 ounce can water chestnuts drained and chopped
  • 1/2 cup green onions chopped
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper finely chopped
Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • a pinch cayenne pepper optional, for heat

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise and sour cream.
  2. Add in the chopped water chestnuts, green onions, and red bell pepper.
  3. Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and pepper (and cayenne pepper, if using).
  4. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve chilled with your favorite dippers.
