Method
- Allow the frozen pizza dough to thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Remove it from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before you plan to bake so it can come to room temperature.16 oz frozen pizza dough
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Heavily spray a metal cake pan with nonstick cooking spray or brush it generously with vegetable oil.
- Gently press the pizza dough into the cake pan. Make sure to keep the dough nice and thick rather than stretching it too thin.16 oz frozen pizza dough
- In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in the minced garlic and exactly one teaspoon of the Italian seasoning.3 tablespoons butter, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- Pour the melted garlic butter mixture over the dough and use a pastry brush to spread it evenly all the way to the edges.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the dough, being careful to push plenty of cheese toward the edges of the pan.2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Sprinkle the remaining teaspoon of Italian seasoning over the top of the cheese.2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- Bake the cheese bread at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minutes.
- Switch the oven to a low broil for an additional 2 to 3 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly. Watch it very closely during this stage to prevent burning.
- Remove the bread from the oven and then carefully lift it out of the pan. Using a pizza cutter, slice the loaf into 10 thick cheese sticks.
- Serve immediately with a side of warm marinara sauce or extra garlic butter for dipping.
Notes
For the most authentic result and crispy edges, use a metal baking pan rather than glass or ceramic. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in an air fryer or oven.
