Ingredients
  

For the Beef:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang Korean chili paste, adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Rice:
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
Toppings (optional):
  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions
  • Kimchi
  • Fried egg
  • Sriracha
  • Shredded carrots
  • Avocado

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Beef: In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, gochujang, garlic, ginger, and pepper. Mix well.

  2. Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef. Drain off any excess grease.

  3. Combine the Sauce: Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked beef. Stir well to make sure you are coating all the beef and simmer for 5-7 minutes. stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  4. Assemble the Bowls: Divide the cooked rice among bowls.

  5. Add the Beef: Spoon the Korean ground beef mixture over the rice
  6. Top It Off: Add your favorite toppings like sesame seeds, green onions, kimchi, or a fried egg.
