Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, salt, black pepper, cumin, oregano, red pepper flakes, fresh dill, fresh mint, diced red onion, minced garlic, and lemon zest. Use your hands to mix until all ingredients are well combined.
- Using a cookie dough scoop or tablespoon, portion out the chicken mixture. Roll the mixture between your hands to form meatballs.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Carefully add the meatballs to the hot skillet. Cook for approximately 3-4 minutes per side, until browned and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). You may need to cook the meatballs in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the skillet.
- Serve the Greek chicken meatballs warm. They are delicious served over chopped romaine lettuce with feta, cucumber, tomato, rice, and a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce.
Notes
For best results, ensure the internal temperature of the meatballs reaches 165°F (74°C). If you prefer, these meatballs can also be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes or cooked in an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes.
