Easy Hershey's Red Velvet Blossoms Cookies

A quick, surprisingly healthy, and incredibly flavorful dessert perfect for any occasion. Soft, melt-in-your-mouth cookie with a rich red velvet flavor and a sweet Hershey's Kiss on top.

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (1 stick)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
Toppings

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined. Add the red food coloring and mix until evenly distributed.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls.
  7. Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops are slightly soft.
  8. Immediately after removing the cookies from the oven, gently press a Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie.
