Ingredients
  

For the Broth:
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mirin sweet rice wine
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon sesame oil
For the Ramen:
  • 8 ounces ramen noodles
  • 1 cup cooked chicken shredded
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 2 soft-boiled eggs halved, optional
  • nori seaweed optional
  • sriracha optional, for spice

Equipment

  • Large Pot
  • Separate pot for noodles

Method
 

  1. In a large pot, combine the chicken broth, water, soy sauce, mirin, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. While the broth is simmering, cook the ramen noodles according to package directions. Drain immediately.
  4. Divide the cooked ramen noodles into bowls.
  5. Ladle the hot broth over the noodles.
  6. Top with shredded chicken, green onions, and soft-boiled egg halves (if using).
  7. Garnish with nori seaweed sheets and a drizzle of sriracha if desired.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

Don't overcook ramen noodles - cook al dente for best texture. Adjust soy sauce and mirin to taste. Prepare toppings ahead for faster assembly. Add rice vinegar for brightness. Serve with edamame or cucumber salad for complete meal.
