Ingredients

  • 1 cup sliced strawberries
  • 1 15-oz can mandarin oranges drained
  • 1 banana sliced
  • 2 kiwis peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup grapes halved
  • 1/2 cup orange juice

Method

  1. Begin by preparing the fresh fruit: wash the berries, peel and cube the kiwis, and slice the strawberries.
1 cup sliced strawberries, 2 kiwis, 1 cup blueberries
  2. Halve the grapes to make them easier to eat and to allow them to soak up the dressing.
    1 cup grapes
  3. Drain the canned mandarin oranges thoroughly to ensure no excess syrup or water dilutes the salad.
    1 15-oz can mandarin oranges
  4. Place all the prepared fruit into a large, wide mixing bowl.
  5. If you are serving immediately, slice the banana into rounds and add them to the bowl.
    1 banana
  6. Pour the orange juice over the fruit and gently toss with a large spoon until everything is evenly coated.
    1/2 cup orange juice

Notes

To keep your fruit salad looking its best, always add the bananas at the very last second to prevent them from becoming mushy. Additionally, the orange juice acts as a natural preservative that helps slow down oxidation, keeping the strawberries and kiwis looking bright.
