Ingredients

Turkey Components
  • 12 large fresh strawberries washed and dried thoroughly with stems on
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil divided, for thinning chocolate
  • 36 candy corn
  • 24 mini pretzels broken in half to form feathers
  • 24 mini candy eyes
  • 12 mini orange M&Ms or orange sprinkles for waddles

Method

Instructions
  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the milk chocolate chips and 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted milk chocolate, letting excess drip off, then place on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat for all strawberries and chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes to set.
  4. Melt the white chocolate chips with the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  5. Dip the bottom half of each chilled chocolate-covered strawberry into the melted white chocolate to create the turkey's white chest, or use a piping bag to add detailed feathers.
  6. While the chocolate is still soft, press 3 candy corn pieces in a fan shape into the back of each strawberry to serve as the tail feathers.
  7. Carefully press two broken pretzel halves into the sides of each strawberry to act as wings.
  8. Attach two mini candy eyes and an orange M&M or red/orange icing detail on the front upper portion of the strawberry to create the turkey face.
  9. Return the decorated strawberries to the refrigerator for another 15 minutes to allow all the chocolate to fully harden before serving.

Notes

Make sure your strawberries are completely dry before dipping in chocolate, as any moisture will cause the chocolate to seize.
