Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 8 slices provolone or cheddar cheese cut into circles
  • 8 whole black olives pitted
  • 1 tbsp melted butter for brushing
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into 8 triangles.
  3. Roll each triangle into a cone shape, sealing the seams tightly so they hold their shape during baking.
  4. Place the cones on the baking sheet and brush lightly with melted butter mixed with garlic powder.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  6. While cooling, cut your cheese slices into circles using a round cookie cutter or the rim of a glass to create the hat brims.
  7. Assemble the hats by placing the baked crescent cone on top of the cheese circle and topping with a black olive to complete the look.

Notes

For a sweeter version, use puff pastry and fill with chocolate chips, then dust with powdered sugar instead of using cheese and olives.
