  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix (1 ounce)
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
Wreath Decoration:
  • 1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper for garnish "ornaments"
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper for garnish "ornaments"
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, taco seasoning mix, salsa, and green onions.
  2. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Shape the cheese mixture into a wreath shape on a large serving platter.
  4. Press the chopped cilantro all over the cheese ball wreath, covering it completely.
  5. Decorate the wreath with chopped red and green bell peppers to resemble Christmas ornaments.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the cheese ball to firm up.
  7. Serve chilled with your favorite tortilla chips.

Notes

Make sure your cream cheese is thoroughly softened for a smooth texture. Taste the cheese ball mixture and adjust seasoning or salsa to your preference. Consider adding cayenne pepper for a kick. Apply cilantro just before serving to prevent browning. If making ahead, wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Pat bell peppers dry before decorating. Jalapenos can add some extra spice!
