Method
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. Spread the frozen tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown and very crispy. Flip them halfway through to ensure even browning.
- While the tater tots are in the oven, brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Break it apart with a wooden spoon until no pink remains. Drain the excess grease, then stir in the taco seasoning and a splash of water. Simmer until the beef is evenly coated and fragrant.
- Heat the flour tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds per side until they are warm and pliable. Alternatively, wrap them in damp paper towels and microwave for 20 seconds.
- Lay a warm tortilla flat and spread a line of nacho cheese sauce down the center. Layer on the seasoned ground beef, a generous handful of crispy tater tots, shredded cheddar cheese, and a dollop of sour cream. Leave about 2 inches of space on each side for folding.
- Fold the sides of the tortilla in toward the center, then fold the bottom up over the fillings. Roll it tightly away from you, tucking the edges as you go. Cut the burrito in half diagonally and serve immediately while the tots are still hot.
Notes
For the best crunch, always bake or air-fry your tater tots rather than microwaving them. You can freeze these burritos for up to 2 months and reheat them in the oven.
